A note from the Chairman of the Operating Board
September 10, 2025
Lost Bridge Village Water And Sewer (LBVW&S) is actively pursuing improvements to our facilities, equipment, operating systems/service and infrastructure. Our goal is to improve service capabilities while being cost-effective.
Below is an overview of two projects we have initiated.
1. Lift Pump Station Replacement Program:
Overview;
Based on the topography of Lost Bridge Village (LBV) we have a network of 14 lift stations that pump waste water to our wastewater treatment plant. Our lift stations have been operational for many years and are critical to our ongoing operations. We are at the point where parts are becoming scarce and maintenance costs are excessive. Based on that, we have secured from ANRC, a loan with a principal forgiveness component for the replacement of four lift pump stations that are critical to our operations and operate the most. Bids were solicited and contractor selection has been made. Our targeted timeline is to complete this initial replacement program by the end of 2025.
2. Water Tank Regulatory Maintenance Requirement:
Overview;
LBVW&S operates two water tanks that feed our system for customer connectivity. One tank serves Whitney Mountain plus feeds the lower tank that services the remainder of LBV.
These tanks have mandatory regulatory compliance on a five-year cycle. The tanks must be taken off-line to be cleaned, seal painted inside and out, plus comply with any outstanding code requirements that have been adopted during the past five years.
This work is extensive and requires a complex workaround and a contracted certified experienced vendor which we have engaged who specializes in this work type. The work is scheduled to start during the week of September 15th and be completed by the end of 2025.
Based on our implementation plan, we do not anticipate any disruption of customer water supply because there will be a temporary tank online while the maintenance work is completed.
We are phasing the work so that only one tank at a time will be upgraded for regulatory compliance.
